What is Propaganda?
Propaganda is defined as: "information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view." Propaganda is distributed in many different forms, with the main two being through: literature and film. Australian government propaganda in World War I was used to: influence the population, to celebrate soldiers and it was also a form of misleading advertisement. This website will focus on how propaganda was used to influence the population. The Australian government used propaganda to promote enlistment, but they also used it to maintain public anger against other countries during the war and to idealize the Australian soldiers.
